New York day 13

Our last day in this amazing city. There is so much more we could have done (read eaten) but we already packed so much into our 2 weeks here.

For our last day on the recommendation of our Airbnb hosts, we walked across the Williamsburg Bridge. Before this though, we visited Katz’s Deli for one of their famous ruben sammiches. Just look at it.

On recommendation of our sandwich maker we went with pastrami. It was warm and perfectly cured. I’m glad we only ordered one between us though. It really was so delicious and a great way to make sure we had the energy to walk the bridges.

The walk over the Williamsburg Bridge was a long one but it was really nice to do. The view was great. Over the otherside in Williamsburg, we walked around a little and then caught the east river ferry to the Brooklyn Bridge. We then proceeded to cross the Brooklyn Bridge back to Manhattan. This walk was not as far, but the view was even better.

After a little rest and more ironing for me, we made our way back to Doughnut Plant to pick up some doughnuts for breakfast before our flight the next day. We may have eaten a few then too :p

As our last hoorah, I managed to get us in at the Comedy Cellar again. This time we were front row centre. The first few comedians were great. Then the host announced that a drop in had just shown up unannounced to try some new material. Would you believe it? It was Ray Romano! He called out George early on in his set which was awesome. It was such a nice way to finish off our time in NYC. He’s still got it too. Finally, we were still a little hungry when we made it back close to our room so we lashed out and picked up 8 dumplings from Prosperity Dumplings. So good and so cheap. All up an amazing day in an amazing city hitting 19,522 steps. We will definitely be back here. So I’m not going to say goodbye, more like smell ya later (seriously NYC does stink a bit what with all the garbage everywhere, but it is easy to overlook).
