New York day 5
Today was one of those lets just explore and see how we go days. We knew that Times Square was one place to tick off the list today so we kind of aimed in that general direction.
We had wanted to headto Korea Town for lunch, but we were distracted by a pop up food stall in a square. We wandered through the many stalls and decided to sample in the delights.
That right there is shrimp paella, beef bibbimbap and margaritas. Yup even NY pop up food stalls are the shiz.
We then continued on to find the Flatiron building. I thought I had a photo, turns out I did not. Go look it up. It is a very unique building.
Times Square is really overwhelming. There are so many flashing neon and led signs, even more people, lots of random characters for photo opportunities and also ladies just walking around in body paint. I imagine this is what Vegas would be like.
Of course we did a little shopping and I was able to introduce George to the wonders of how cheap some things in America are. But we will save most of our shopping for the outlets in Orlando.
I did really enjoy the fact that mnm’s world had options for the ocd inclined like myself though
But I digress. A few days ago, I saw a poster on the subway advertising a SNL 40th anniversary exhibit. This was fairly close to times square so we went on over. This was fantastic for a fan to see. It documented the weekly process and history of the show. Which meant we pretty much walked around giggling and reminiscing the entire time. See some photos below.
Stefon with Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton in the back.
The wall of past and present cast members. This was so worth seeing and one of my favourite highlights so far.
After a long day we headed back to our room to decide on dinner. George decided we were having pizza, so we found the best pizza we could.
This was the biggest pizza I have ever seen. Each slice was almost double the size of my head. This is a half margarita half pepperoni. It was a damn good pizza too. Definitely recommend La Margarita! Good thing we walked 16,205 steps today! Oh and we didn’t eat the whole thing. We had leftoversfor breakfast for the next 2 days :p
