New York day 11

So due to yesterday’s activities, I woke up with mild shin splints. So our morning was very lazy. It was also quite rainy and drizzly outside which also made for a slow moving day.

Still not super hungry around lunch time, we ventured out to see the UN. As it was a weekend, everything was closed up and all flags put away, so see the boring pic below.

The car in the left below was parked just opposite. I’m pretty sure it should have said Flowers By Irene :p

Not thwarted by last night’s wild cheese steak chase, George was determined to get one. So we found a place called Shorty’s, walked there, sat down, ordrered beers, settled on our food and low and behold it was freaking amazing!

Uggh, this sammich.

This was sooooooo good. I took my time to finish the whole thing! Mine was actually a chilli cheese steak and George had the original. He also profoundly exclaimed that he now understands cheeze wiz and it’s place in the world. Words can’t fully describe my love for this sandwich. I had the biggest food coma ever but it was worth it. And really;

So once we were able to move, I decided I wanted to do more shopping. So we went shopping. I haven’t bought that much yet really…saving for the outlet malls in Orlando, but I still picked up a few things. We had a quiet night in. We were both pooped and so not hungry, so berries for dinner it was! We still managed to walk 13,480 steps. I’m pretty sure this is why I’m not as big as a house yet.
