Orlando day 9 – Disneyworld park hopping
Today we had a planned spare Disneyworld day because I’m good like that. Basically to do everything we had missed. For me, that was seeing the Nemo musical and the Dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom, then Epcot to meet the characters we missed and explore the world showcase further, then back to Magic Kingdom for dinner in the Be Our Guest Restaurant and the fireworks show. For George it pretty much followed suit but he went to Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom as well.
Highlights
- The Finding Nemo musical was really cute and well done with puppets and so many bubbles at the end!
- I just loved walking around Epcot by myself leisurely whilst George was running around like a crazy person. I explored every country’s area and had a margarita and many beers
- Oh the Japan shop. My heaven essentially. I really could have spent so much money here but I was very reserved. I also managed to miss the afternoon storm. George not so much when we met up a little later
- Eating in the Beast’s castle was so fun. It was set out exactly like the movie and had made it look like it was snowing out the window
Food
We had lunch in France because pastry reasons.
Dinner was quite fancy at the Be Our Guest Restaurant set in the Beast’s castle. This was a lovely way to finish off our time at Disneyworld.
The serviettes were in rose shapes. It really is the little touches.
Holy crap, this cartoucherie plate was the bomb!
Scallop and shrmip puff pastry was my choice and it did not disappoint!
George of course had steak. It was actually delicious and really well cooked.
I had the lemon puff for desert because I love all things lemon in desserts. Like most of the desserts in the US, this was so sweet. It was just sugar really and not much lemony-ness which was disappointing.
George had the strawberry cupcake. It was apparently Belle’s favorite so there wasn’t much choice for him.
Outfit competition
Fittingly for our last day, it ended up as a draw. Given we were going to eat at a fancy restaurant, I wore my midnight owl side of the inside out dress. George went full Disney and wore his new “It all started with a mouse” t-shirt which was very fitting. Overall we really enjoyed these outfit comps. It just added that little something else to our amazing time in Disneyworld!
Summary
We were so sad that this was our last day, but we definitely made the most out of it. Unfortunately due to a very heavy storm that started whilst we were having dinner, the light and fireworks show was cancelled. We both also became a little drenched from a lack of an umbrella. However, it really didn’t put a dampening (ha get it) on our time in Orlando and particulary Disneyworld. It really is a magical place. I loved it here, even with all the children running around. I loved being treated like a big kid. I loved that every single little detail was taken into account. I loved the history of my childhood scattered around. I loved that everyone who worked there greeted you and had a smile. I just loved it all. I would come back here in a heart beat.
