George and I really like eating tasty food. So when it is a special occasion, we like to try different restaurants with great reputations. Enter in The Attic at Malt.

The restaurant itself had a really nice and welcoming decor with comfy chairs that you could rest your arms on. I don’t know about you, but a comfortable chair whilst eating is a massive plus for me!

So, to the food. I’m just going to post the pics and explain what they were.

SA oysters with apple ponzu jelly and wakame. They were so fresh and yummy!

My entree pick (we shared half and half of the entrees) was spanner crab with sweetcorn panna cotta and a chilli sweetcorn relish. My favourite of the night!

George’s entree pick, tuna with bloody mary Jelly and scallop radish dressing. Super delicious.

My main was eye fillet with wagyu silverside, pumpkin pure and horseradish cream. I have never had silverside so tasty. I actually preferred it to the eye fillet!

George’s main was the confit duck. If there is duck on the menu, George will more than likely have it. It was cooked perfectly.

My dessert was the Chef’s souffle. For summer it was a delicious mango souffle with a passionfruit sorbet and candied nuts. My second favourite dish of the night. That mango souffle was so subtle and light it was a perfect desert for my tastes.

George’s dessert was the apple trifle with doughnuts. We were both going to have this originally but were talked out of it by our waitress, She was so right. It was good, but not great. The only let down of the night really.

Our view and the bottle of wine that accompanied our meal. We have had it before and it did not disappoint. Plus it went super well with our mains.

As an added bonus, because I mentioned it was a belated birthday celebration for George, the staff actually signed a happy birthday card which was very cute.

Overall we would definitely recommend this place. The setting was perfect, the wait staff were great and really friendly and the food was delicious. Not much more you can ask for really.
