My favourite mobile games
Because I haven’t really been able to do much these last few days besides lie on the couch or bed, I have been spending a lot of time on my phone in between naps.
So in between Instagram and Pinterest lurking and general internet browsing I have had lots of opportunity to play my favourite mobile games. I haven’t quite had the energy to play any more Mass Effect 2 or even Pokemon really, but I am sure as my energy slowly returns I will get some time/brain capacity for those. I don’t tend to download too many games to my phone because I try to limit my phone gaming to the train, that and I get addicted to games really easily.
There are a few games that are always on my phone though so I will run through why they are.
Rise of Berk – this should come as no surprise seeing as how I am obsessed with all things Toothless and How to Train Your Dragon. It is essentially a city builder (which I have never gotten into before) but also you get to search for and train up different dragons featured on the show as well as do missions, fight enemies, collect things. I am a big collector in video games so this game kind of appeals to all my addictions. It is the only game I’ll play throughout the day too. It is one of those games you can play for like a minute here and there every few hours and you are done. The best thing about this game is that whilst there are in game transactions available to speed up your progress, you really don’t have to use them at all. In fact if you do, you kind of take out the fun.
Plants vs Zombies 2 – I was really late to the PvZ bandwagon with George introducing me to it a little over a year ago and it was simple mindless fun. It is actually what I use to wake myself up in the morning. After my alarm goes off and I have dealt with the things that happened through the night in Rise of Berk, I play the daily zombie party to actually get my brain awake. Actually doing the levels themselves happens on the train. Again a freemium game, I do tend to get annoyed that some plants that are awesome you have to purchase. Screw that. They should be able to be bought with in game currency too. Greedy EA.
Lara Croft Go – Whilst I have done all the available puzzles and collected all I can collect, I really do love this game. The puzzles are just hard enough so that they are challenging but not impossible and when you complete them you feel super smart. Plus it is Lara Croft. I love Lara. This wanted to play this game so much I even broke my rule of paying for a mobile game. But it was on special when I bought it and it has provided much enjoyment. Also any new updates are free so that is a huge plus. If you like puzzles I totally recommend this game.
Little Alchemy – Myself and a few colleagues became obsessed with this game a few months back (then I got George obsessed) and every now and then I still play it. Essentially you start out with a few basic elements and you keep adding them together and mixing them to make other elements. It is super fun. It is also really interesting to see the rabbit holes people go down depending on what elements they choose to mix together. The other 2 people I started with came up with completely different elements to me so it was fun to share and compare. I remember when I found the first hidden element, the tardis (mixing time and space of course) we all lost our shit.
So there you go. If there are any suggestions out there for new games to try let me know 🙂
