Springbrook National Park

So I was meant to post this last night but I went to bed instead. However, yesterday I actually went outside and on a bush walk with a friend from work. I really enjoy bush walking/hiking and used to do it often with my Mum when I was younger. Now George and I tend to do walks when we are on holidays, but we don’t ever do it when we are home.

So when my friend invited me on one of her walks (she goes somewhere different almost every weekend) I jumped at the chance. I’ve been wanting to explore South East Qld more and this is the perfect opportunity to see some beautiful scenery and lush greenery. I love forests, there is just so much shade. Perfect for my ranga self.

I enjoyed myself so much and it was great to do something different on a Saturday morning. I’ve been wanting to explore and get back to nature more and this is just what I needed. Everything was so green, and I just love running water it is so peaceful to me so being around beautiful falls and running creeks was just perfect. There was one spot at the top of the falls that I could just have stayed and sat and meditated for hours. We also stumbled across a bower-bird nest and as we were admiring it, out the corner of my eye I spotted two red rosellas just chilling in a tree. We were able to get super close to them and they didn’t even seem to care. It was wonderful to stop and just take everything in.

By the time we finished the trail, it was about lunch time. We stumbled across this hidden little cafe called Rosellas, so we decided it was a sign and this is where we would eat. It was very cute and eclectic. I kinda felt like I was in my nana’s house. We sat outside and enjoyed a hot beverage, some carrot cake and vegetarian nachos whilst enjoying the cottage garden and forest surrounds. It was the perfect end to the day. I’ve included some of the pictures I took so you can see just how amazing some of the scenery was. They really don’t do it justice though.
