The Silva Spoon
On our way back from the Sunshine Coast this morning, we had some time to kill before our soccer game so we decided to find a place to have a late-ish breakfast. We had originally planned to go to a place called Get Fresh, however, when we arrived there we found it was closed on Sunday. Who does that? Their breakfast menu looked awesome too. So we had to find another place. I am actually quite happy we did in the end because The Silva Spoon was a fabulous find!
When I first walked in I was in tea heaven. There were beautiful tea cups and tea pots as well as loose leaf tea and it was so pretty. I wanted to have a look at all the things but knew I wouldn’t be allowed to buy any so I resisted :p
As it is still quite warm, we decided to have the fresh brewed iced tea of the day which happened to be a chai mixed with one of their fruity seasonal blends. I really liked it. George would have preferred if there was some sugar in it but he has much more of a sweet tooth.
So for breakfast I had the scrambled eggs with dukkah on beautifully toasted bread and George decided on the granola. Of course we swapped halfway though as always so we can get double the deliciousness (or to make up for picking a dish that didn’t live up to expectations which can happen). My eggs were perfectly cooked and the dukkah was a nice addition which I will definitely add to my own. The bread was beautiful too. The granola was also really tasty and was served with almond milk and Greek yoghurt with blueberries. I thought this was well balanced and had great flavours. Again, George would have preferred to have some extra sweetness, but that is his sweet tooth coming out again. I also loved the presentation of the food. Such pretty dishes!
I loved this place and really want to go back to try the different teas and other items on the menu. It was a great little find. If you like tea I highly recommend it!
