Do you even squat?
Turns out I dont. Well I haven’t been doing it properly it appears. I always thought I was squatting the right way, but no. I stick my butt out too much which means my butt and hammys get a great workout, but not my quads, the main muscle you are meant to work.
Maybe that’s why I’ve always had extra junk in the trunk. I’m cool with that. My PT, however, would like me to work those quads. So I’m having to relearn how to squat without sticking my white girl booty out. I have a new at hone excercise that feels so silly to do but I can tell already it is helping to shape my technique.
Essentially, you stand a foot length back from a wall and squat without smashing your face into that wall. If you squat properly you’ll be fine. Then you try again a little bit closer, then closer again finally close enough so it is almost impossible and repeat. Hopefully I relearn quickly so I can start doing some proper weighted squats!
