Boourns. Our little holiday is almost over and it is soon time to back to reality 😦 So we tried to make the most of today.

Firstly we made our way to The Rocks markets for a little exploring. I remember them being so much bigger when I was last in Sydney, but I was 16 then so it was probably the same. I did manage to pick up some new face melty hot sauce though so woo.

We then walked around Circular Quay for a while admiring the sites and then figuring out where we would go for lunch. Eventually we settled on The Spice Room after a quick search of restaurants in the area. Initially we wanted seafood, but none of the seafood restaurants really blew us away with their menus or ratings so Indian it was!

It was a good life choice. The food was spectacular. The menu was extensive which meantc that it took a long time to decide what to get. But you can see what we chose below:

Prawns cooked in the tandori oven (our favourite).

We’ve dubbed this Indian AB. It is a deconstructed pakora with the pastry on the bottom, then the filling and finally the sauces. It was very tasty!

Following lunch, we continued exploring and walked around the Opera House. I was pretty much hopping from shade patch to shade patch as it was super sunny and not at all shady really around the Opera House. The architecture is stunning up close though as the feature picture shows.

We were pretty pooped after our walk do we went back to our room and just chilled out for a few hours. We even napped! Once we decided we were hungry again we scoped out a way to get to Mary’s in Newtown as recommended to us by a local. They do burgers and beers.

When we arrived, the line was super long to be seated so we chose take away instead. We picked the Mary’s burger wuyh trashcan bacon. It was a decent burger. I can see why this place is popular. Good food, good beer selection and an awesome grungy fit out. It would have been awesome to eat in but eh.

Overall we have enjoyed our time in Sydney. I couldn’t live here, but I would come back to visit again for the culinary delights!
