Japan day 4 – Tokyo Disneyland
I’m a few days behind becsuse we have spent the last 3 days at Disney doing quite long days. However, I’m now onboard a 3hr shinkansen from Tokyo to Osaka (no wifi though so I’ll post tonight) so yeh time to catch up!
So…we love Disney. Hence us spending 3 days between the 2 parks here. Today was dedicated to Disneyland.
What we did
Rides
We had one main goal when in Disneyland and that was to ride the Pirates of the Caribbean ride as this was undergoing maintenance whilst we were at Disney World Orlando. So conveniently this ride was right near the entrance and only had a half hour line up, so in we went. I don’t know what I expected from this ride…but I guess I expected more of a rollercoaster type attraction. Not It’s a small world with pirates. Eh it was fine. Off to the next thing!
We decided we wanted to go on Space Mountain again so we went to obtain a fast pass because we knew the line would be awful. It was a 3hr standby line when our designated fast pass time came up. So a fast pass was a good life choice. The ride was the same as in Orlando. Amazing fun! I love this ride.
The other main ride we wanted to try again was Star Tours, the star wars themed ride. This rode actually has 64 different scenarios so we wanted to try it out again. We utilised a fast pass for this too, however, the fast pass line was also pretty long. Clearly more fast moving than the standby line…but yeh slow. It was worth it though as the scenario we had this time was better than our first time so yay!
It’s a trap! Hard to see, but that’s Admiral Akbar.

The other ride we went on was Snow White’s adventure. We just waited in line for this one. Again it was an it’s a small world type ride. Not like the awesome rollercoaster that is in Orlando. After this one, we made sure that we would look at reviews of rides before waiting in line for them again.
Parades
We watched the main day parade again and it was nice to see different floats. All beautiful of course! Some pictures are below.
Also we watched the night time electric parade again. The Tokyo Disney version was so much better than the Orlando version. We froze our butts off watching it, but it was fabulous as you can see below.
Cheshire cat butt.
I have an awesome video of the Genie float, but ut seems I need to upload it to YouTube to embed. So I’ll post that vid later on a separate post 🙂
The fireworks were cancelled due to wind (we found out that this happens often) but we stayed around for the light show on Cinderella’s Castle which again was just awesome. I took a few photos but was too mesmerized by the show.
We also did alot of walking and just exploring the park. For all those Pokémon Go nerds like us out there, there is a swinub spawn point just near the big building with domes to the left of the entrance. You’re welcome. We walked 23,489 steps today.
What we ate
Maple fried chicken and cajun shrimp waffle sammiches. With a mickey shaped churro. Now these were delicious! The line for churros at the food carts were so long so we decided to get one here as there was not a stupidly long line.
Curry popcorn and caramel popcorn. Flavored popcorn is a huge thing in Tokyo Disney and Disneysea. It’s a good thing. Such a good snack! Curry was my fave out of the 2 where as caramel was Georges.
Steamed mickey pork and chicken bun. So the ears were filled with pork and the head was filled with teriaki chicken. This was so yummy. Theme park food in Japan shits on any other food in theme parks I’ve been to before. Oh and also a mango lemon tapioca drink.
Dinner was at the Red Queen’s buffet restaurant. We had roast chicken and a fried seafood plate with cream of corn soup and a strawberry mousse cake.
We also found a cream cheese filled pretzel on a food cart which we shared. This was amazing. Sweet, but not too sweet.
We also picked up some fries just before the lights parade…because warming.
What we bought
Just a smalll haul today. We mainly scouted shops for our last day.
The nemo packet is miso. Miso. I just had to have this!
So overall Tokyo Disney was a great day. We fit so much in and pur little feet were so tired. There are many seats available throughout the park though which was great. You could easily take a rest when required. Also matching what you wear to the people you go with seems to be a thing. It’s so cute. I wish that we had this memo before we left. Also plush character hats and headbands (not just ears) are massive too. I almost felt silly not wearing one!
