This morning we left for game drive just before 6. On our drive we saw many giraffes and impala as well as some hippos whilst we were on the way to track some lions.

A very beautiful landscape. It was really beautiful to drive around in.   Hippo Butts!

This one giraffe was a jerk and wouldn’t get out the way.

Seriously stood there for minutes. Funny though.

We were tracking the lions for a while but they were being sneaks and hiding in the scrub where we couldn’t go because it was winter so we continued on and saw more giraffes, inala, impala, kubo, warthogs.

Eventually, we stumbled across some very alert impala…they had the scent of lions on their noses. These weren’t the lions we were tracking earlier, but three lovely ladies showed themselves. We were able to get super close to them and their adorable cub who was a boy.

We sat and watched the lions just lazing for a while and then headed back to the camp and saw some more creatures along the way.

Then back to breakfast! Which very unlike me, I actually didn’t take photos of! So sorry about that!

After breakfast, we had organised a trip to the Endangered species centre. This is the only place you can really see cheetahs in South Africa as they are so rare in the wild due to the whole endangered thing. It was a really interesting place and organisation. Essentially they are a cheetah breeding centre and ensure that the cheetah inbreeding stops to bring the species back from extinction.

During our time here, we saw many cheetahs, some wild dogs, cheetah cubs (such floofballs! I couldn’t get good pictures :(), baby rhinos (squeeeeee I love them!), tame leopards that were someone’s pets and can’t be rehabilitated to the wild.

Once we had seen everything at the centre, we headed back to the camp to lunch. Which I did take photos of!

My spicy tomato soup

The lunch selections from the buffet.

George’s dessert.

After lunch, we headed back to the villa to relax with some wine and just to appreciate our surrounds one last time. There were squirrels as well. They ran around the outside of our villa. It was very cute.

Oh the serenity. Take me back!

For our afternoon drive we left early due to hopefully finding the aftermath of a lion hunt earlier in the day. oh we found it! There were 11 lions around a zebra carcass that was pretty well eaten by the time we arrived, but they were still going at it. There were 2 4 month old cubs as well as 2 4 week old cubs that were just the cutest things! Photos wouldn’t have done them justice as they were obscured and we were a little too far but trust me when I say they were just the most schnookems adorable little balls of fluff. I really cant stress enough how adorable they were!

You can’t see much, but there are 3 lioness’ and a zebra carcass in here. They drag the carcass into the bushes so that vultures can’t get it.

After looking at the amazing scene for a while, we then went on a rhino hunt. Eventually we found 2 but they were a little far away for pictures. We did see their little ears twitch which was awesome.

By this time, it was starting to get dark so we stopped for one last drink in the scrub under the stars.

We continued on and whilst driving had the constellations explained which was interesting. I love how many stars there are when you aren’t near a city. They are so pretty. Also I never thought about this but the southern cross points south here.On the way back to the camp we saw 2 sevit, again it was too dark to get a good photo but they were really awesome to see.

Dinner was again served around the open fire and was lovely. A really nice fitting farewell to our stay here.

After dinner, we headed back to our villa to pack as we had a very early morning start to drive 2hrs to the airport to head out to Zimbabwe. Oh and one last bath in that glorious tub!
