I’ve decided to combine the last parts of our trip into one post because reasons :p

So we woke up early again for our last game drive of the trip. It was just the 2 of us with Richard our guide, however, this morning Richard asked George to be the spotter and hold the spotlight whilst it was still pitch black. So George hopped in the front of the car and began to shine the light. Just a little bit outside of the lodge, pretty much just turning the corner onto the road George shined a light into the trees and what did he spot? A leopard. I shit you not, an actual leopard just chilling up a tree. We stopped and watched it gracefully slink down from it’s perch and disappear into the scrub. Richard couldn’t believe it, he kept calling us the luckiest people as we had managed to see all of the big 5 as well as animals like honey badgers and pangolins. What a way to end our safari too. We were both so excited of what we saw. Unfortunately it was super dark and all happened so quick so I couldn’t get any photos.

We did see a few other animals on our morning drive like jackals, more elephants and impala. We also caught a beautiful sunrise along our drive

We then headed back to camp to pick up our things and have breakfast before heading out to the airport to fly to Harare for the last leg of our trip. Above was the view, amazing right?

And our hearty breakfast which we had made to order. I tell you what, African hospitality is something else! I’m really going to miss it.

For the rest of the day, we caught a plane to Harare, met up with our friends and made it to the huge house we were all staying at during our time there. Essentially the next few days we were in Harare for our friends wedding (George was a groomsman), so I have combined the sights, sounds and foods of our time in photo form below.

How beautiful was this set up and venue for a wedding! It was a beautiful day filled with fun, sun, friends, dancing and food!

The next day we were all feeling a little tired and sorry for ourselves, so we found a great place for lunch and pigged out on all the fried food :p

Finally, we came to the end of our trip and had some long flights ahead of us to chill, watch movies, try to sleep and eat what was put in front of us. It was nothing like the food we were used to on this trip, but it was still decent for plane food :p

So that caps off our trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe. It was an unexpected trip, but we had so much fun! It was amazing to go on safari, I really can’t recommend it enough. Photos (well my amateur photography at least) just doesn’t do it justice. I would go on another safari trip in a heartbeat! Then to finish the trip celebrating with friends and just hanging out, it was the best way to end and relax before coming home.

Bring on the next adventure!
