Toronto part 1

Woo we finally made it! Toronto airport was very efficient too after a very long journey. Customs took all of 5 mins and we even were able to joke with the official about how everyone brings Australians who live here proper Cadbury chocolate (of which we had about 4kg of…).

We were greeted with big hugs from our fabulous friends Fancy and Alex and their ridiculously cute son Owen which made the jouney totally worth it. That first shower when we made it back home though, oh and brushing my teeth was just beyond amazing though. We also were made a proper delicious sammich with fresh ingredients which went down a treat!

Plus look at those Wall-e and Eva mugs!

After a few hrs of catching up we decided it was dinner time so we went to the local pub The Indie Alehouse which was right up our alley of having craft brews and super yum food.

20150605_212453I had the mussels which were amazing.

After a few beers it really became a case of

so we did just that.

On the Saturday we had a pretty lazy one and just hit up the local shops in preparation for dinner where we played Canadian cards against humanity with actual canadians which was a laugh. Good wine and a sleeping tablet aided my best nights sleep since we left!

I was very excited to wake up on Sunday because it was Mac and Cheese Fest day! When we arrived we were greeted by this 2hr line to get in

Line ridewhich actually went around both corners of this building. We decided that line, plus the inevitable line of peeps inside the very tiny venue would be too much, so we went around the corner to a pub which boasted 120 beers on tap.

This place was great! The beers were tasty, it was actually quite roomy and my craving for mac and cheese was satisfied by this orechetti and cheese with chorizo and candied bacon:

Seriously, this was delicious. We then ventured to downtown Toronto for another beer at the steamwhistle brewery which had a great view of the tower

Whilst we were there I noticed there was an aquarium and I love aquariums so I may have convinved everyone to go. Apparently it is only about a year old and it was so awesome! See pics below:
