Japan day 6 – Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea park hop
The weather had become sunny again, which was perfect for our park hop day! This is the day we could go between both parks and do what we missed out on.
What we did
Rides
Firstly, we fast passed Pooh’s Honey Hunt which was in Disneyland. This was an enjoyable ride. You were in a honeypot that had no tracks. There was a clear path set for each pot but it was cool to not be on tracks. It made it seem like they had a mind of their own.
The other ride we went on was the Monster’s Inc hide and seek interactive ride. This was cool. You had flash lights that you had to shine on places to make monsters appear. It was cute.
We did try to fast pass the Raging Rapids at Disneysea too, but fast passes were all given out by the time we got there and we were not waiting 3 hrs for it. We weren’t super disappointed by this anyway.
In Disneysea we also went on an express cart from Port Discovery to the American Waterfront. It was like a tram. We also went on the steam boat from the Lost River Delta to the front of the park just for something to do.
We also met the Genie!
I really enjoyed my time in both parks. What was really interesting to me was the differences between the 2 in regards to what was pushed and what people were interested in character wise. In America, it’s all about the princesses and Mickey…with pixar thrown in the mix. Toy story, Monster’s Inc and Cars (Cars is my least fave disney thing ever). Star Wars was a huge deal in the states too. Where as in Japan, Minnie is more popular than Mickey. Donald and Daisy Duck are a huge deal as is Stitch and Winnie the Pooh. Toy Story and Monsters Inc are huge (especially the little green men) and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit (Disney’s first cartoon) is also crazy popular. Tokyo Disney has even had it’s own mascot created called Duffy. It is a bear. He has a girlfriend whose name escapes me and a green cat. The people here are nuts for Duffy.
What we ate
Again, so very much haha!
We started out with sweet potato filled and chocolate filled pastries.
Followed by a chilli con carne bread cone. This bread cone…my god. So tasty. So cheesy.

For lunch, we were able to get into the Blue Bayou via a reservation. It wasn’t quite as good as Magellan’s but it was still pretty damn good! The photos uploaded in the wrong order and I’m too lazy to reorder them so enjoy in the reverse order :p
Pecan pie
Strawberry sundae
Steak with jus.
Lobster gumbo
Chef’s selection of entrées. These were so tasty!
The special pineapple mocktail
The cool decor. The restaurant itself is set behind the Pirates ride so kept the swamp theme.
Black pepper popcorn. So yum!
A Donald Duck lifesaver shrimp steamed bun. Seriously the steam buns in the park are great.
Chandu’s tail chicken steam bun.
Potato churros. Yup that’s a thing.
And finally, honey popcorn.
What we bought
A bigger haul today.
And finally this super kawaii bag charm
